The unofficial guide to  Disneyland, California

Space Mountain

Located in Tomorrowland, Space Mountain is one of the best rollercoaster at Disneyland.

After entering the Space Dome, you will board your space shuttle at the Space Port. Like all space stations, the Space Dome is hollow, and currently about 300 ft in diameter. Waiting passengers aboard the Tomorrowland Transit Authority can witness your launch, as they are allowed limited access to the Space Dome.

As your shuttles leaves the Space Port, you travel past the loading area queue and the Mission Control Booth, where you will make a brief stop prior to launch. After a short countdown, you are propelled down the track to the opposite side of the dome, where you make a 180 degree turn and then start the climb to the launch pad.

After blast-off, the Earth, stars, comets, meteors, and asteroids can be seen when looking past the lift hill bay's open ceiling.

At maximum altitude, your shuttle makes a quick dip and plunges into numerous high-speed twists and turns as you travel through the dome in near-complete darkness, including a very steep drop of 39 degrees. Your adventure ends with the shuttles passing through a red swirling wormhole, before hitting the final brake run and entering the unload station to disembark.
